On July 5, 2022, at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences, we organized the final conference within the framework of the SSTeMM project. The project leader and coordinator, Professor Dr John Wells from South East Technological University (SETU) in Ireland, welcomed the conference participants. Then the participating researchers presented the project’s more important activities and achievements.
As part of the project, the researchers developed a digital mobile platform that provides nursing students in the clinical environment with support in managing stress and equips them with the knowledge, skills and competencies to deal with stressors in the work environment. SSTeMM supports nursing students in developing personal resilience to improve their work engagement with its solutions. One of the solutions is a free mobile application available in four languages, which aims to support the self-management of stress through opportunities for self-reflection during clinical training. At the conference, students from Spain shared their experiences using the mobile application.
To help coordinators, preceptors and clinical mentors work with students, we prepared an e-manual entitled “Student Nurse Clinical Support Manual for Trainers” and organized workshops for stress management during clinical education and stress management for overworked employees in work environments.
The international topicality of the contents for the field of health and education was demonstrated by the high participation of participants at the final conference of the SSTeMM project. Individuals from eight countries from various educational and health institutions participated in the conference.
