Dr Claire Magner
Lecturer in Children’s Nursing, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems, University College Dublin
Claire is a registered general and children’s nurse with a background in adult, cardiac and paediatric intensive care. She has worked in academia since joining UCD in 2016 to lead the Graduate Diplomas in Children’s Critical Care Nursing, and Children’s Cardiac Care.
Claire’s primary areas of research interest are in processes of care delivery, and in the wellbeing of clinical staff, particularly regarding the psychological impact of COVID-19 and the HSE cyber-attack.
Role and expertise in SSTeMM
Claire’s role and expertise in SSTeMM are to support the project team in recruitment of study participants, and promotion of the project among students, as well as academic and clinical colleagues. Claire hopes to contribute to the well being and resilience of nurses and student nurses, who play such a vital role in the healthcare system, now and into the future.
