Laia Gómez Vicente

Laia is a nursing student from TecnoCampus. She is an intern from the Research Group GRACIS since 2021 and a nursing student representative in the State Association of Student Nurses of Spain (AEEE). Laia has participated at different European research Projects from GRACIS group. Laia’s role in SSTeMM Project is to support the project team in research tasks and promotion of the project among other students. She participated as a speaker of the student’s experience with the SSTeMM Project during the last meeting of the researchers of the project in Maribor. Laia wants to collaborate in the improvement of the well-being of the nursing students regarding their mental health. Because if the students and professionals are not well, they won’t be able to help the patients, so it is essential to take care of themselves first.

Seamus Power
Student Nurse, School of Health Sciences, South East Technological University
Seamus is a mature student, currently studying for a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. In his previous career, he was a professional actor, working mainly in television for over twenty years. After graduation, he hopes to work in Mental Health Services in Ireland, pursue a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Nursing and forge a new career as a Psychiatric Nurse.
Seamus is interested in supporting student nurses to develop personal resilience and is delighted to be part of the SSTeMM team.

Lisa Duggan
Student Nurse, School of Health Sciences, South East Technological
Lisa initially trained as a nursery nurse specialising with children with severe to profound disabilities in the Children's Sunshine Home, Dublin.. She has worked in the disability sector for sixteen years with both children and adults. Her primary interests are in the areas of respiratory health and behaviours that challenge in the intellectual disability population. Lisa returned to education as a mature student in 2019 and is currently undertaking the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Intellectual Disability Nursing.
Mark Kirwan

Psychiatric Nursing Student in Waterford Institute of Technology BSc Hons
Mark is an intern psychiatric nursing student in the last few months of his nursing degree. He is due to graduate in September 2021. Mark worked for Guinness as a brewing technician from 2002 until 2013. He went on to complete a diploma in Limerick Institute of Technology in 2014 in “Addiction Counselling” as he always had a passion for helping people with addiction issues. In 2017 he commenced his degree in psychiatric nursing and continues a family tradition of nursing.
Role and expertise in SSTeMM
Mark is passionate about addressing student nurse stress and allowing students the space and time to discuss issues that they may be struggling with. He believes that students should be encouraged to speak to their preceptors, colleagues, and lecturers if they are stressed, worried or anxious.

My name is Anna Fernando Canal. I am currently in the fourth year of the nursing degree in Tecnocampus University.
I have a special interest in obstetric and gynecology nursing, I really enjoy taking care of newborns and their mothers during such a vulnerable time.
